What are some Negatives about Anabaptist during the renaissance era?
Well, I don’t want to harp on any religion, but during the Renaissance era the Anabaptist’s were seem by Catholics, Lutherans, and Calvinists alike as being heretics. They were the second most persecuted religion in Europe besides the Jews. The only problem was that the Anabaptist’s were, by nature, pacifists. So the whole time they were being slaughtered by all the other Christian fractions, they never once fought back. Granted its not necessarily a bad thing, but it does help explain why they never ballooned into the type of phenomenon that Calvinism or Lutheranism was.
