What are some neat things to see and do around Sedona Arizona?
The rock formations and scenery are great. Sedona also has a substantial artists’ community and the galleries would be a nice stop if you are in to kind of thing. Flagstaff is nice little college town. Phoenix is not to far off for some shopping and such. Of course there is the Grand Canyon and it is always worth a visit. I have backpacked into the Canyon twice but it has been many years. I believe there is a tourist steam train that take you from Williams to the rim, but I don’t know how expensive it is. There is an IMAX theatre there in addition to the beauty of the canyon and the museum and the few shops. If you are in really good shape you can do a day hike to bottom and back, but don’t try that lightly. If you have not been to this part of the country before remember that you are in the high desert of the Colorado Plateau. 5000 feet above sea level and it will not be warm like Phoenix.
