Avonex is available in reconstituted powder form, and in a pre-filled syringe form. Avonex has been shown to reduce the number of relapses an MS sufferer may experience. It has also been shown to slow the progression of Multiple Sclerosis. While there is no cure for MS, it is hopeful that medications like Avonex will be able to one day completely halt the progression of the disease, and this may lead to a cure.
