What are some morals of “whats eating Gilbert Grape”?
Don’t take some people for granted, like if someone is different like Gilbert, still make them feel like they are normal and have them join in on everyday actives. Also, how the older siblings had to take care of the younger as well as Gilbert, because the mother was unable to. maybe it also showed doing what’s right for example when Johnny Depp’s character was having in affair with that lady, even though her and her husband didn’t get along and all that, he still knew it was wrong and called it off. Also, it states in the movie the mother got obese after being depressed from their father’s death/leaving them, and you can also learn to not let yourself go if you have responsibilities like children and it showed the effects it had on all their lives because they had to take care of each other and they could have normal lives kids and teens do.
