Yeah, you don’t need to cut your hair. That really isn’t helpful. You can vary the height of the ponytail and whether you part it or not. The half ponytail is also a good solution My brother had long hair for a long time, and my favorite way that he did his hair was center part, pulled into a ponytail at the nape of the neck, but then styled the ponytail into a messy bun (my apologies for the annoying teenage girls in the video). The messy bun is an awesome and masculine alternative, if done right. John Butler has long hair (albeit in dreads), and my brother often emulated his hairstyles, because they were just that awesome.
Ignore the just-cut-it folks. If you like your hair long, the only real reason to cut it shorter than that is if it’s too damaged.
