What are some major milestones for Ronald McDonald House?
We’re very proud of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile program. It’s a mobile clinic with a pediatrician on board that travels to bring health care to where it’s needed, to reach children who may not be able to travel. The Care Mobile can go to the Lower Valley and Socorro, for example. Another program we’ve brought to El Paso is the Family Room. It’s brand new, not a year old, and it’s an extension of the house that’s located inside Providence Hospital on the children’s floor. Parents whose children are in the hospital can go there to take a break or have a snack. They can talk to someone who may be going through the same thing. There are also toys for other children to play with. Q: How have your programs changed over the years? We are focused on the healthcare needs of children, and refining what we do. In the past, we were more spread out into anything related to children. Q: Are the needs changing with the economic downturn? What hasn’t changed is that if their child is sick, parents
