What are some issues med/surg nurses face today?
Some of the big issues med/surg nurses face today are the variety of the disease processes and responding to the patient needs in a timely manner. Our mission is to give each and every patient the quality care that is anticipated. It is very important our med/surg nurses know and practice the mission and values of our organization. Therefore, high performance is an expectation of all our nurses. Also, the education for the patient and families is inclusive as well. What evidence-based practice has your facility recently implemented for med/surg care? All patients are now screened for potential deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and treated prophylactically to prevent DVTs if they meet criteria. Also, rapid response alerts have been initiated which have been proven to save lives. What would you like to see improved upon in patient care?
