What are some ideas for re-creating the vampire legend?
Go darker. Twlight is geared toward tween girls. That market will be loyal to Twilight for awhile. Try a much darker vampire story geared toward adults. One of my favorites is “Let the Right one in” by John Ajvide Lindqvist http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Let_The_Rig… Maybe deal more with the vampire society. How do vampires interact with each other. Different vampire lords, ruling rival clans. Some clans see humans as cattle, other clans see humans as simple weaker versions of themselves so they feel the need to protect them and only drink donor blood. Maybe even a small clan of very nasty vampires that only feed on other vampires.
