What are some ideas for making my own cabinet knobs or drawer pulls?

You could use wood in several ways… as cutouts of leaf shapes or with the shapes or images of maple leaves on small pieces of wood using paint, decoupage, stamps, etc. (or buy wood knobs then use them in the same way). Some metal knobs could be treated those ways too?… or other metal shapes turned into knobs. We make a lot of cabinet knobs from polymer clay too (and there the possibilities are almost endless). I would NOT, however, use the brands/lines of polymer clay called Sculpey, Sculpey III, or SuperSculpey-flesh since after baking they will be weak in any thin or projecting areas (fine for fat balls, etc). Instead I’d recommend Kato Polyclay, FimoClassic, Premo, Cernit, or FimoSoft for the pre-colored polymer clays, and SuperSculpey-Firm if you want to paint since it comes only in gray.
