What are some good weekend trips to take from Houston (driving)?
Austin- see the state capitol, go to 6th street, great museums San Antonio- missions (Alamo yes, but there are others than are better!), Fiesta Texas and Sea World, great golfing Shiner- fun brewery tour Galveston- Moody Gardens, Kemah Boardwalk, the beach Brenham- fun ice cream tour if you like camping or hiking there are a few state parks in the area that are nice, Brazos Bend SP has good wildlife, Huntington SP has nice trees and camping Beaumont- underrated in my opinion! good energy museum, spindletop, worlds largest fire hydrant :P, cute ‘downtown’ with nightclubs and restaurants New Orleans- a bit of a long drive, but doable in a weekend Casinos in Louisiana are a weekend trip also, really just for those who want to gamble though, otherwise it’s quite boring.
