In my garage I’ve got a combination of things going. I first have some of those wire shelves that are commonly used in closets up along one wall. I’ve also got those right above the washer/dryer. They’re cheap, strong, but pretty basic and I’ve placed them high enough so that they don’t interfere with the cars coming in and out. But those aren’t adjustable at all. Along another wall I’ve got peg board set up, which is great for hanging tools and other small items without taking up much space. But along the front wall of the garage I installed the kind of shelving you use for bookcases. It’s a nice, modular system that works well. You’ve basically got a metal bar that you attach directly to the wall. They have two little holes through them all the way up and down the bar and then you attach a bracket through the holes at whatever height you need. Then I use wooden boards as the shelves.
