At first, was a student studying the Talmud, in the hope of one day’s study of Kabbalah. Trust in God and love. When he was imprisoned, he witnessed many killings and atrocities. After seeing so many horrible things, Wiesel began to question their God, whom he respected, could allow this to happen. It was an absolute nightmare.
