Rice, UT, A&M and Baylor are considered to be the best in Texas for pre-meds looking to go to Med School. SMU would be in the next grouping. I wouldn’t say SMU is particulary strong in the sciences, but a degree from there will get you will be sufficient enough to get into Med School. If I were you, I’d focus more on going to a school you like, because happier students make better grades and good grades are a big factor in Med School admissions.
