What are some good ideas for cheap packed lunches?
Make meat turnovers! They are so good and filling, and you can put whatever you like in them! I use an easy pizza dough recipe from an old Betty Crocker cookbook for the crust. It takes 15 minutes, and makes six nice, big turnovers. About 1/2 to 3/4 pound of your appropriate meat plus veggies and maybe some cheese and salt and pepper are all it takes. or Wraps made with tortillas can be so much more creative for lunches. Try them with peanut butter and jelly, grilled chicken with salad dressing and cheese, assorted deli meats and cucumbers, tomatoes, and so many other interesting ideas. Spaghetti is the best kind of pasta to use as they will create a mesh that will make it easyer for the omelette to hold together, especially while you turn it. Use about one egg for every 100g of pasta. Beat the eggs in a large bowl, add salt and pepper to taste and some grated cheese (ideally Italian parmesan but any hard cheese will do). Note that the cheese also helps keeping the thing together so the more you use the better. Pour the pasta in the bowl and mix until all the pasta is well coated with egg. Heat up a large non-stick frying pan with just a spoonful of oil in it. The temperature must be very high at the start to prevent the omelette from sticking. Pour the content of the bow
