What are some good exercises to strenghten a damaged hip flexor muscle?
If you have a serious injury to your hip flexors you should check in with a physiotherapist and begin working together on the damage. However if you do not feel like that is an option or you feel it is unneccesary you can start by doing some simple exercises and stretches to begin the rebalancing of your hip area. First you could try to strengthen your hip flexor by simply lifting your leg so that your knee comes up towards your chest. Start with as many or few repetitions as you feel comfortable with letting your body be the guide. Pay close attention to how it feels and if it causes any sharp pains stop. You can also stretch your hip extensors which can help ease the pressure on your hip flexors. you can do this by lying on your back and crossing your right foot over your left knee and then gently easing both legs towards your chest. It would be nice to actually be able to assess you circumstance, which again causes me to encourage you visit a therapist or a trainer to work with you.
