What are some good colours to paint a bedroom?
Colours for a bedroom should be muted and soft – its a room that should promote relaxation rather than set the senses going with say primary reds, deep blues and dark greens – an no busy patterns either. You could make a signature wall of a darker colour behind the bed, making the other three walls lighter. Choose colours that reflect the sun, brighten the room on a dark day and yet are not acid or too fluorescent. Dulux do a colour called Old Gold and it is a very soft but antiquey yellow that is muted, soft, and relaxing. When the sun shines on it the whole room feels as if it is glowing. It is particularly lovely as the sun wanes towards the end of the day. You have to tie the colour in with the bedding colour and curtains and carpet. Soft colours suit those aspects too.
