What are some good cheap (and I mean cheap) decorating ideas?
Look if you really mean little budget or nothing, I think you should try these:
1. Rearrange your furniture, or make over your furniture with a little budget and time.
2. Add plants, as a side or center interior.
3. Add ambient light to your room.
4. Add color, no budget to paint no problem, add red blanket.
5. Be creative in your space.

Some other ideas: check to see if you can join a Freecycle mailing list in your area. Also, I have found some terrific buys on remnant tables at favric stores, including upholstery and drapery fabrics. For instance, there is a Hancock Fabrics nearby that will occasionally do a 1/2 off on remnant sale and I’ve found lots of home decorating fabrics that way for $3/yard. Try fabric glue or iron-on tape instead of sewing if you prefer. Take a look at Ikea hacks online to get an idea about how to remake common furniture (doesn’t have to be Ikea) into interesting items. You can make an eclectic mix go together by making a simple and unifying color combination – for example, paint the wooden furniture white, black, or dark brown and combine with lavender and/or lime green. You can make a lamp out of many things with a simple and inexpensive kit from a hardware store, or use the kit to make a nonfunctional lamp work again. I’ve seen canvas dropcloths used as slipcovers if you like that rustic
Cheap curtains are a rod and a sheet. They are already hemmed so they’re ready to go. I use calendars fro art. I get my frames at the $1 store and the calenders are really cheap if you can find them now. I usually get a good one at the end of the season and then use it as needed. Use your fabric to make chair covers. You can easily cover a seat or drape a piece over the top and tie off to keep it in place. Cover boxes with wrapping paper or left over wallpaper for inside closets or if they have a lid just set them out, they’ll hide a lot of junk. I’ve even seen big boxes that have little chip bags that would be good to use under things. This should get you started. Good luck!
