While it is more of a challenge to be active this time of year when it is very cold outside, it can be done! First, there are several shows on television that you can participate in. Look at your local TV listing for these shows. Some specialize in yoga, Pilates, step classes, and kick boxing – just to name a few. If you can’t find anything in your local listings, you may go to your local library for a DVD or exercise tape. They usually have a good selection. Lastly, if you don’t have, (or it’s not practical), for you to acquire a piece of exercise equipment (such as a treadmill), you can always jump rope. Remember, exercise doesn’t have to be complicated. Anything that gets you up and moving and increases your heart rate counts.
