What are some Genetic Modified Organism foods?
There’s corn, canola, and there’s even a GMO pig; the first modified animal. It was just approved for farming recently in Canada. Apparently, it’s only modified so that it’s body absorbs much more of the phosphorus in its feed so the manure is less polluting. The canola is modiified to be more resistant to drought, and the corn is more resistant to certain diseases that are peculiar to corn. I see no reason to think that they’re not safe. It’s not required by law yet, but I think consumers should be able to know when it is a GMO. I heard that there was a big campaign to require producers to label GMO food, but governments are notoriously slow to enact legislation like that.
