What are some general guidelines when building a pool?
• Your pool builder must be licensed by the State of Tennessee to build pools • Must be licensed by your city and county to conduct business • Preferably a member of the Better Business Bureau • Preferably a member of The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals • Must have General Liability and Workmen’s Compensation Insurance • Must have the above licenses and insurance to buy a building permit • Never buy your own permits. It makes you liable for the project and any injuries or damages that might occur. • Ask to look at pools your builder has completed. Talk to his clients. • Check with The Better Business Bureau for any unresolved complaints.
