What are some funny restaurants to go to in the Boston Area?
The only restaurant I can think of that is vaguely goofy/fun in Boston (and I’ve lived here for over 15 years) is Fire & Ice in the Copley Square area. You get to make your own dinner with raw ingredients along different salad bar-type counters and they cook the food in the middle of the restaurant with everyone in a circle around it. It’s all you can eat, and the guys that cook are very animated and loud and funny. I’ve even seen them lead a sing along while people waited for their food. The only other option would be a benihana type place (there is one called Bisuteki in Revere) where they cook at your table and flip knives and make jokes about “Japanese Wata” and such. But the last few times I’ve gone, the cook was a lot less into the act than he should be.
