We did this for Christmas, but I don’t see why it can’t be done for ANY Holiday: Make “stained glass window” panes using wax paper. How? Mom will probably measure and cut the wax paper to fit (or be a bit lartger than) the window panes of a french door, front door, or actual window. (You’ll need two pieces per pane.) The kids will draw, using crayons, pictures of things they think about when they think of the holiday on one piece. (They should color on the “waxy” side of the wax paper. Make sure the colors are pretty solid, though things will change in a moment.) Mom will take the matching piece, and on an ironing board will press the two pieces of wax paper together.(Try to make sure the waxy sides are on the inside – it will “fuse” the two pieces together and melt the crayon. Suggestion: Use an old towel to protect the iron and the board in case the waxy side is OUT on the non-colored piece.) Let the pieces cool, set them in the window pane, and trim the edges so they fit tight. Tape
