What are some features of an online route planner?
Not entirely I’m sure what you’re after here but I’ll have a go! The best features for me are that you just put in the postcodes of your departure point and your destination and the programme will work out a route for you by which ever method you choose, be it walking, driving, shortest or quickest. It also gives you the exact mileage which is great for those who can submit travel expenses. It also gives you an approximate length of time the journey will take but I take this with a pinch of salt as there are so many variables to take into account, such as time of day, traffic, kids off school etc. More sophisticated ones can show you certain point of interest along the way, such as post offices, petrol stations etc. Hope this helps some.
