What are some factors that may affect the presentation of a ThinPrep Pap Test slide?

For all pap tests, the use of interfering substances (i.e. lubricants) should be minimized prior to specimen collection. Improper collection techniques, including use of the wrong collection devices, can also adversely affect slide presentation. Please refer to the Customer Training Bulletin on Collection, the Dear Colleague Letter on Lubricants, or the CLSI Document: Papanicolaou Technique; Approved Guideline and ACOG Practice Bulletin, no. 45, August 2003. You will need Adobe® Acrobat® Reader™.
