What are some excluded books of the Bible?
These books would include the Apocrypha (Greek word for hidden) which consists of 14 Jewish documents written in Hebrew and Aramaic between 200 and 100 B.C. Some of these documents include 1 and 2 Maccabees, 1 and 2 Esdras, additions to Esther, etc. To the Apocrypha could be added the so-called “Gospels of Thomas and Judas”. It should be noted that none of these books were ever looked upon as canonical by the Jewish scribes or by Christian theologians. Furthermore, Jesus never quoted from any of these books.
