What are some examples of potential IGS concentrations?
Although it is not necessary to specialize, IGS concentrations often include a regional expertise (Europe, East Asia, the Middle East), a functional expertise (Environmental Policy, Terrorism, International Trade), or some combination of the two. Examples include: Environmental Issues in Southeast Asia, Counterterrorism Policy in the Middle East, and International Economics and Latin America. The possibilities for integrating disciplines to achieve a focus are extensive at UMBC due to the quality and expertise of the faculty and the wide range of courses available.
