An example of a non-renewable resource would be fossil fuels. Fossil fuels have taken millions of years for nature to form out of biological matter. We are today, producing things that in millions of years will become fossil fuels, but since it will take so long for that to happen, and because we are using up all the stores we have now, it is technically a non-renewable resource.
