What are some ethical dilemmas that occur in health care or human service organizations?
The biggest ethical dillema in health care is that Drug salesmen offer bonuses to doctors that push that salesmans drugs. My wife, a diabetic, was given a new blood glucose meter by her Dr. Even tho she had just refilled her prescription for test strips. We found out later that all diabetics, when at appointments were issued new meters. We found out later that the Doctor got about $50,000 as a bonus for dispensing these meters. Even tho the old meters were completely functional. The graft and corruption in health care is shameful and underlies the reason that the health care industry is against universal health care. “First do no harm” my a$$.
