There are many non-metallic mineral deposits which are economic. a) Industrial Minerals – Limestone, Dolomite, Glass Sand, Clay, Quartz, Gypsum, Barytes, Muscovite etc b) Fertilizer Minerals – Apatite, Phosphorite, Potash etc. c) Gemstones d) Rock Salt There are many other mineral which are mined because there is a demand for them, like, Calcite, Feldspar, Fluorite, Graphite, Kyanite & Sillimanite (as refractory), Talc (Talcum Powder), Sulphur, etc. Besides chemical industry requires a number of non-metallic minerals as their raw materials.
