What are some easy Red Hot Chili Peppers songs to play on the guitar?
The first songs I learned to play by them were Mellowship Slinky in B Major and Suck My Kiss, and I Could have Lied and Breaking the Girl are both are pretty easy. Try Under the bridge and My Friends when you get into it a little bit. When it comes to Chili Peppers songs, it’s not really the actually notes or chords that are difficult, its getting that syncopated, Hendrix-style rythm that Frusciante (or Navarro, or any of the numerous guitarists) uses when you’re playing the old stuff. Most important thing with RHCP is the bounce to all the songs, so listen hard and try to get it down, and you’ll be fine.
