What are some easy cheap meal ideas for a family of 4 on a budget?
here’s nice cheap meal corned beef hash with a twist saute onion and garlic add a tsp of turmeric, add sliced potatoes – no need to peel the egyptian ones are nice in the supermarkets right now add sliced carrots let them cook for about 15/20 mins on a low heat add greens (spinach or broccoli or spring greens -or other) add diced corned beef and volia a cheap nutritious meal I bought 2 tins of corned beef and only used 1 and that was for 4 of us the turmeric is the twist
Something my fiance’s mom taught me is chili-mac. You just get some macaroni – elbows or shells or whatever little pasta you like. Get a couple of cans of hormel or generic chili in a can. Cook the pasta in one pan and drain it. Cook the chili in another. Everyone can take as much/little pasta and as much/little chili as they want and mix it in their own bowl. A few crackers make it superb! If your family enjoys spicy foods, you could probably add some hot sauce for a bite to it. Or, even some shredded cheese. I’m actually eating it right now! Good stuff!
