We have LOTS of different jobs here. NASA is like any other large corporation: everything from executives to push-broom pilots. A list would get quite long. I work around a lot of engineers, but most of us don’t do engineering design. The group I’m with does Operations. There are folks here who are into propulsion system design – that’s more engineering. My brother in law is a physicist and works in the Non-Destructive Evaluation lab – they x-ray things instead of cutting them up. There are trainers here and human factors analysts. There are attorneys and graphics designers. Machinists Fork lift operators Test facility designers and operators Computer system admins Programmers Program managers Administration folks at all levels We have a librarian And folks who work in the mail room There are mechanical assembly types over at the Cape, and launch controllers Chemists, pyrotechnics experts, and people who make parachutes …the list goes on and on and on And then we start talking about
