What are some differences between water and a piece of paper physical properties and why?

To start with Water is a compost and paper ,usually, is an amalgam. The only other thing that comes to mind is that, at normal ambient temperature, water is a liquid and paper is a solid. Stretching my imagination I could say that water is a solvent, whereas paper usually is not. I could think of several silly differences but somewhat I don’t think you are after those. Hope that I have been of help.
