What are some differences between living in the city and living in the country?
Where to start! . If anything, I think you can breathe more freely in the country, better air quality around you. When living in an apartment in the west of the city I had to use air conditioning throughout the summer due to the smog’s yellow haze hanging over the city’s horizon day after day. Not much to enjoy in that! Also, the main downtown district’s tall grey buildings seemed to shut out the light of day creating an oppressive atmosphere of concrete and shadows and very little green grass, mostly artificially planted things indoors or on the sidewalks. That’s so dreary! . I’ve retired over a decade ago and moved westward into rainforest country here and enjoy small-town living very much. It’s great for the equanimity of the soul – no rush, no traffic jams, no lengthy commutes by subway or car, friendly people, and better still, no tall buildings to block the daylight. The weather is generally pleasant all year round, no extremes of temps, grass is green even in winter months. Goll
