What are some differences between horsetails and ferns?
Their main differences is that horsetails have highly reduced leaves (whereas ferns have large, well-developed fronds); horsetails show a unique type of growth where the stems are jointed; and ferns carry their spores on the back of their leaves in sori, whereas horsetails carry their spores in strobili, which are borne on the tip of stems.
