What are some creative ideas for making a timeline?

Grade level? You can fill in some of the info and have a list of events for your students to select from to complete the timeline on a worksheet. Or for a fun activity, make the timelines big and long. I have included a page of graphics instead of written choices. The students cut and paste them accordingly. An example would be at the date of 1492 on the time line they would select the graphic of Columbus or a ship, a pic of the a-bomb and they write the date on the timeline….It makes a nice group activity…especially the day before a holiday. They can also be scored for color and creativity and make it a competition between the class groups …..AND you can display them on your walls!
