Often I find people have the idea that Belize is not capable to cater to their needs. For example, often a lack in infrastructure is perceived; all the while we have the same 5star-hotels and upper class restaurants you would expect in any tourism location. Also, being a part of the Caribbean, people are scared about hurricanes. While this is a problem for the general area, Belize is not or only rarely affected by these storms.
