What are some clever ways to furnish a small studio apartment?
Is this a studio or an effeciency (separate bedroom or not) If there is no bedroom door then I suggest a thicker single colored curtain to block off your bed and dresser. Another idea is to block it off primarily with bookshelves which also aids in providing storage space. If your kitchen feeds into your living room then separate it off with a bar and a couple of stools from Ikea or a likeminded place. This takes less space then a table and gives you a place to eat and relax. I agree that a love seat and a narrow chair is the best way to go seating wise. If you need a space for a guest, they now make arm chairs that fold out into single beds. I personally am a big fan of larger (2.5 ft by 2.5 ft approx) coffee tables and floor cushions. Floor cushions can easily be stuffed in a closet, but if you have friends over for dinner or something you can place them around the coffee table and you suddenly have japanese style seating for 4 people.
