What are some cheap yet great sounding speakers I can get for DJing?
Your budget seems a little more realistic than a lot of cats looking in to buying a sound system. For 5-600 bucks, you can do something ok. (I’m assuming you have a decent power amp. If you don’t, please re-ask this question, and I think I can still help you.) I have never used the brands you mention, although neither has the greatest reputation. I play much the same gigs as you do, so I am very sure about what you will want. Personally, I have been using this VocoPro 12″ powered (built-in amplifier) subwoofer made for Karaoke to get me major floor-shaking bass at bars and the like. It was only 200-something bucks, and I recommend something like it as the core of your system. You will rock that way. Here is the link to where I bought mine.
