What are some characteristics of the market here, especially how it pertains to health and leisure time activities?
People here take their holidays very seriously, for one thing. People here expect to live a more balanced life than we were accustomed to in Houston. The other thing is we have so much to offer here. We have access to great parks, and we have lots of seasonal sports and things like rails to trails conversions. There are so many ways here to get involved, not only on a fitness level but also in community projects because there are so many charities here for which you can volunteer. There’s no way to do it all here. What have you learned from doing this magazine? I learned how to manage stress — no one can prepare you for what lying awake in the middle of the night and wondering how to make payroll. Managing stress is important, especially when you have kids and you’re trying to juggle career and family. We try to practice what we preach. The whole balanced life thing is very important.
