What are some characteristics of the gentry in colonial life?
Since they were the highest class-the top of society, they were usually children born of wealthy parents who married other members of the gentry. They made sure that classes were not intermingled despite feelings toward others in a different class. They were sucessful businesspersons, merchants, or people that had been in the rich class for a while. They had the latest fashions and enjoyed lavish parties and banquets.
