Some government jobs require “any Bachelor’s degree” from an accredited college, in addition to seniority, or experience, or having worked so many years in a certain level position. The degrees themselves (sociology and anthropology) don’t lend to careers, as they are “a dime a dozen”, especially in today’s economy; unless, of course, one advances to law school or medical school. Outside of academia (which are competitive), it is extremely difficult to get a job/career in the actual field—as an anthropologist or sociologist. Many people with good social skills go into entry-level marketing jobs that don’t pay much and don’t require a college-degree—just to obtain work experience.
