What are some beliefs about Scientology?
Scientology does not include deity worship and is not an Abrahamic religion. It’s a mixture of early psychoanalysis, Buddhist concepts and some occultism. It’s about personal empowerment and is similar to new age philosophies. Non Scientologists sometimes tend to get their attention stuck on the space opera theme, but that’s only a part of Scientology. It’s there because we believe life as spiritual beings didn’t just start on this planet and that people live more than once. Therefore, if one goes back far enough, one gets “past lives” on other planets. But those lives are no more important than any recent lifetime because Scn is really about past traumas and the thoughts the person had about them. So a trauma is a trauma regardless of when it happened. There are a number of groups and practices that pursue Scientology as philosophy.
