We’re all children of the ’80s, so I love the way The Police stacked their harmonies. On your band’s live cover of The Who’s “Baba O’Riley,” you play the original’s synth intro on the banjo. Pete Townshend is probably one of my greatest heroes. I was just playing around with a D chord and I wondered if I could do the triplets at the head of that song. I started messing with it and before I knew it we were playing “Baba O’Riley.” What appeals to you most about Townshend’s music? His solo writing. “All the Best Cowboys Have Chinese Eyes” is probably in my top two or three. I was probably about 16-years-old when I first heard that record, and it’s really heavy. I think he was coming out of heroin addiction. It’s truly poetry. What do you grow on your farm? Tomatoes, yellow squash, sweet corn, peas, cantaloupe and watermelon. You and your bro are in Acoustic Syndicate. What’s your favorite band with brothers in it of all time? Uh, what are some of those? The Kinks, The Beach Boys, The Allm
