What are some animals that do not care for their young?

Alligators and crocodiles do not care for their young to the extent that a lot of animals do, however they do care for their young as far as protection. Also, Pythons care for their young when they are eggs, but not after hatching. All mammals that I know of due care for their young, the possible exception to this being the Platypus, although to the best of my knowledge not much is known about it’s “family ties.” Birds = The Greater Honeyguide, The Whydah, The Cuckoo, and the Screaming Cowbird all leave their eggs in another birds nest to make the other bird take care of their chicks. Reptiles = All but the afformentioned Amphibians = The majority, however some frog and toad species do take a SLIGHTLY more active role in child-rearing. Insects = Most aside from the colonizing ones, such as Wasps, ants, bees, and other such species. Fish = The majority, yes including sea horses, after the eggs hatch it’s bye bye, I don’t want to say all because I’m not 100% sure on that.

Mammals tend to care for their young. Fish and reptiles not so much. Birds take care of their young. Microscopic life doesn’t care for their young, nor does plant life.

Think most if not all mammals though look after their young in general. Reptiles and fish mainly are hard wired to hunt at birth. So they are not left, parents are just not needed in most cases. Thats not 100% all of them. Alligators and some others watch the young for a little while for protection and so do some fish.

Large inner city humans. They are either too poor and have to work leaving the children to themselves, or too rich to care for their children leaving them to be raise by nannies.
