What are some advantages and disadvantages of the extraction and manafacturing of copper?
Most copper ores are sulphides and these are turned to the acid rain gas, sulphur dioxide, as the copper is extracted:this acid gas is the cause of a lot of enviromental damage(as at paris mountain as ‘J’ mentions above).The advantage of copper extraction is that it is a vital ,and very profitable material bothh as pure copper in electical equipment and as less pure copper in domestic water pipes.It is also a constituent of hundreds of different alloys with tin,zinc,nickel silicon.phosphorus and beryllium for bearing alloys and marine and domestic use.
