What are skin pores?
Pores are the outer openings of the glands that carry oil, moisture and waste matter to the skin’s surface. They also help control body temperature. When we’re in a cold environment, tiny muscles close the pores, helping retain body heat. When the temperate rises, the pores open and secrete moisture, which evaporate and creates “cold”, to help the body maintain its normal temperature. In addition to these vital processes, 90% of our breathing is done through the pores, so it is extremely important to keep these openings clean.
