Bushings are a small part inside the truck that is shaped like a rubber doughnut and is used to cushion the truck while it turns. The stiffer the bushing the more stable the skateboard. Newer skateboarders should use a stiffer bushing. More seasoned skaters can us a medium bushing. Soft bushings make tricks more difficult and need lots of control.
