What are sins of commission and omission?
Doing things we ought not to do, is a sin of commission. Not doing thing we ought to do, is a sin of omission. What are mortal sins and venial sins? Those sins committed with the full consent of the will are mortal. Those sins committed without the full consent are venial. What is the sin against the Holy Spirit? It is difficult to say which sin is against the Holy Spirit. If a person reaches a stage in which that person is so hardened that he cannot repent, any sin committed by him is a sin against the Holy Spirit. To avoid this kind of sin, we must always be open to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and repent. If a man continues to disobey the prompting of the Holy Spirit, he becomes hardened.
