What are Shirataki Noodles, also known as “Miracle Noodles”?
Shirataki Noodles are naturally made from a water soluble fiber called Glucomannan, from the from the knojac plant. The konjac plant is a tuber , grown only in the Orient, and full of fiber, and is also known as glucomannan. Shirataki Konjac has been known and used in Asia for over two thousand years. It is known as Moyu or Juruo in China, and Konnyaku or Shirataki in Japan. The soluble fiber found in the Miracle Noodle slows digestion and prolongs the sensation of fullness and is an essential part of any weight loss program. You also absorb more nutrients in the foods you eat with the Miracle Noodle due to the slowing of digestion. The Shirataki noodle is sold packed in water and the shelf life is more than a year. There are many ways to use the noodles. The Japanese use them as a side dish, just plain. These thin, chewy noodles are almost translucent and have a different texture than regular wheat flour noodles. I have found, that since the Shirataki noodles have no flavor of their o
